Size: up to 10″, averages around 7″
Range:
- most of eastern U.S.A. and southern Canada, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Texas
Habitat:
- rocky and sandy pools of headwaters, creeks, and small rivers.
- Mostly found in tiny, intermittent streams.
